Glazer suffers second stroke (go back to the homepage) Malcolm Glazer, the American owner of Manchester United, is back in hospital after suffering a second stroke. Malcolm Glazer: 'rehabilitation period will be challenging' Glazer, 77, was only released from the Cleveland Clinic in Florida on April 23 after suffering the initial attack. The Glazer family have now confirmed he was readmitted seven days later after another stroke. Sources close to the family say his speech and mobility are impaired, although his life is not believed to be at risk. His treatment is expected to last longer than after his first stroke, and he may be in hospital for several weeks. Glazer's son Joel said: "Doctors expect my father to return home in the next few weeks. "As a result of this stroke, his rehabilitation period will be longer and more challenging." Just as they did when news of Glazer's first stroke was confirmed last month, his family continue to insist the millionaire's health problems will have no impact on the day-to-day running of Old Trafford. Glazer bought Manchester United for £790million 12 months ago, but at no stage has he been involved in any major decisions at the club. He has left his sons Joel, Ave and Bryan to liaise with Manchester-based directors Nick Humby, Andy Anson and chief executive David Gill. Post your views on the topic! Click here |
