Glazer takes control of United (go back to the homepage) The US tycoon Malcolm Glazer today acquired the 75% stake in Manchester United that allows him to remove the club from the Stock Exchange. Sources close to the businessman confirmed that, with more than 3m shares in the club traded this morning, he had increased the 74.81% stake he had acquired by Friday evening. Confirmation of the 78-year-old's exact shareholding will not be made until after the stock market has closed later this afternoon. |
