Glazer family 'in security scare' (go back to the homepage) MEMBERS of Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer's family were at the centre of a security scare after a fire alarm sounded at a Manchester hotel, it was claimed today. Police and firefighters were called to the Marriott Victoria and Albert hotel at 8.45pm last night. Witnesses said members of the Glazer family - believed to include his sons Avi, Bryan, Joel, Edward and Kevin and daughter Darcie, all United non- executive directors - were evacuated alongside other guests and given a police escort away. Fire alarm He said officers were called to deal with a large number of people, believed to be Manchester United fans, who were in the bar at the time. The spokesman said: "We got a call from at 8.20pm last night from the hotel requesting assistance due to a large number of people, believed to be Manchester United fans, in the bar at the hotel. Officers attended and helped staff clear the bar. A fire alarm then sounded." No one from the Glazer family was available for comment. |
